Principal of Harmony High School Grover "Buddy"" Butler was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and his family moved to Columbus, Ohio shortly after. After spending much of his childhood in Ohio, the family returned to Kentucky where Buddy attended Elkhorn City High School.
Buddy graduated from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky with a degree in History and Government. Shortly after graduation, he moved to St. Cloud where he worked as a substitute teacher with Osceola County Schools before moving on to work in the private sector with distribution management companies. Ten years later, he returned to education as a History teacher at Narcoossee Community School. He earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and served as Dean of Students at Narcoossee Community School and Gateway High School. He was appointed assistant principal at Harmony High School midway through the school's opening year in 2004, and became the Principal of Harmony High School in December of 2008.
Buddy's wife, Jackie, is a kindergarten teacher at Narcoossee Community School. He has two sons, Aaron and Brandon. "I am excited about the opportunity to continue the great things that have been started here at Harmony High School. I look forward to working with all of our stakeholders to build upon our success. As a long-term resident of east Osceola County, I consider it a great privilege to serve the community in this position. This is my home and I am strongly committed to working with the students, parents, and staff to make this the best high school in Florida."
